Introduction

In August 2018, Joy and I spent three illuminating weeks traveling through the country of Peru. It was an awe-inspiring, challenging experience that first broke, then strengthened our bodies and minds, and drew us closer together through our shared travels and travails. Note: this is the country of Peru, not the city of Peru, Illinois, population ten thousand, as my mother thought when I told her about the trip.
